Beautification of Footpath Walls in Front of Adugodi Police Quarters on Hosur Main Road: Commissioner K.N. Ramesh

A persistent garbage black spot causing inconvenience to the public on Hosur Main Road, Adugodi, under the BTM Layout Assembly Constituency of Bengaluru South City Corporation, has been successfully eliminated by the corporation.

A stretch of approximately 500 meters of the footpath, running from the Indira Canteen on Hosur Road to the Adugodi Police Quarters, has been thoroughly cleaned and beautified with wall paintings and awareness messages aimed at educating the public.

Active Participation in Wall Beautification

Participating in this beautification drive, Commissioner Shri K.N. Ramesh drew attention and inspired the public by personally painting a message on the wall to raise awareness about cleanliness.

Directives to Monitor Littering and Impose Fines

To prevent future footpath encroachments and stop the area from turning into a black spot again, the Commissioner directed the Assistant General Manager (AGM) of BSWML to deploy a dedicated Marshal for patrolling the stretch.

He further emphasized that stringent measures must be taken to prevent garbage dumping in these areas, with strict fines imposed on violators without leniency. He also instructed officials to maintain continuous surveillance over chronic littering spots across other areas.

Urgent Action to Clear Remaining Black Spots

A total of 25 black spots have been identified across the BTM Layout Assembly Constituency. Among these, 5 spots have already been completely cleared. The Commissioner instructed officials to clear the remaining 18 black spots on priority.

Gathering Public Feedback

The Commissioner directed the concerned officials to actively seek feedback and suggestions from local residents and the public after eliminating black spots and completing the beautification work in each area.

Repair Work Post-Encroachment Clearance on Footpaths

Meanwhile, all encroachments obstructing pedestrian movement along Hosur Main Road have been completely cleared by the corporation. The Commissioner also inspected the ongoing repair and restoration work on damaged footpaths being undertaken to ensure smooth pedestrian mobility.

AGM Shashikala, Marshals, and Health Inspectors were present during the inspection.
