Minister Raghumurthy Calls for Time-Bound Implementation of ST Welfare Schemes

–Directs officials to ensure no delay in implementation

Bengaluru, Aug. 17: On his very first day of assuming charge as Scheduled Tribe welfare minister, T. Raghumurthy held a review meeting with senior officials and directed them to ensure that there is no delay in the implementation of welfare schemes and projects undertaken by the department.

At the review meeting held at his office in Vidhana Soudha on Monday, the minister sought detailed information from officials on the functioning of the department and the status of implementation of various schemes and projects.

The minister directed the officials to submit a comprehensive report on all projects currently being implemented by the department. He sought clear details on the status of each project, pending works, reasons for delays, if any, and the measures required to complete them.

The minister said that welfare programmes for the Scheduled Tribes cover critical areas such as education, housing, economic empowerment and infrastructure development. Effective coordination among various levels of the department and speedy execution of projects are therefore essential, he added.

Department secretary M Kanagavalli, Valmiki Development Corporation managing director Ashok Dudaganti, department director Ashok and other senior officials were present at the meeting.
